Week 7 - Response to Content

Wikipedia is a wrongly discredited source.  While facts should be confirmed by other sources before being accepted as fact, Wikipedia provides the basic understanding of a search item.  With views of more then one million per day (Rosenzweig, R 2006), statistics show the forums popularity among internet surfers.
Many people question how online forums gain profit by providing a free service to inquisitive online consumers.  It's simple - advertisement.  The more views a site gets, the more popular a site is.  The more popular a site is, the more companies want to advertise on that site.  The more companies that want to advertise on the site, the higher the owner of the site can charge for the advertisement space.  So a website craves views and popularity in order to attract advertisement clients to provide the big dollars.
