This week we were given the task to create a short AV video with the theme of new communication technologies, for obvious reasons. After forming groups, Jaz, Lauren and I began brainstorming ideas. We agreed on creating a trailor for a movie, working with the concept of the rapid development of technology over time and the future posibilities for technology. By the end of class we had finalised that the trailor would be for a movie about a married couple whose lives are changed when the man suddently dies. However, due to the technological advances come 2121, the couple are able to keep in contact via technology. Who knows, it could happen...
We were original thinking a little to largely and forgetting we wouldn't be able to produce a hollywood production in three short weeks and with the materials we had available to us. We wanted to use footage from the matrix and also a funeral scene from a movie but realized we would face copyright issues so we agreed we'd shoot all our own footage and limit the images and incooperate more text than we initially planned.
We aren't worried about defamation because we had created a new idea and there were no aspects of harming anyones reputation involved. I know other groups were including facebook and other social medias in their production concept and they are the groups who would possibly have to consider the dangers of defamation.
